If you need assistance with your Blackboard Learn ID or password, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call ITS Helpdesk at (541) 885-1470, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time. The Helpdesk staff will need your first name, last name, and student ID (not your Social Security Number). Please specify that you are attempting to login to Blackboard Learn.
Every Wednesday morning between 4:00 a.m and 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time, Blackboard will be offline. This is to allow us to perform Windows updates, install Blackboard updates and to do weekly database maintenance on the Blackboard Learn servers. Please be aware that Blackboard will not be available during this hour. Faculty should avoid any development in their classes and students should avoid test taking and assignment submission around this time frame.

Doing this weekly maintenance help keeps Blackboard running more smoothly.
Please remember to NOT use Internet Explorer with Blackboard. We have found that many unexplained problems/issues are resolved by using a different browser. Even though Blackboard should work with all browsers, we have discovered that it is best to use Mozilla Firefox, Chrome or Safari with Blackboard.
Any time you have a problem in Blackboard, you should try another browser to see if it fixes the issue. We often switch between Firefox and Chrome when we find that something won't work in one browser. These browsers are updated frequently however and some features may not work as well right after they are updated, but in a few days the issue may go away.
Please be aware that there are two items that may affect students using Blackboard at Oregon Tech. One of the issues is also affecting all other universities using the last four versions of Blackboard, so we're not alone. Both of these issues will be fixed by Blackboard at some point, but we don't know when.
My Grades - Please do not use this area as your method of watching for upcoming items that are due. It does not list any item that has specific dates available set up. So if your instructor has an item set to not display until a future day, you will not see it listed in the My Grades area until that day arrives. Also if you don't turn in an item that had selected dates available, you won't see the missed item in your My Grades area. You should use the class syllabus, and the calendar if your instructor uses it, to track due dates
Submitting Assignments - If an assignment link is listed inside of an area like Course Materials, you may notice an odd screen after submitting your assignment. If the page that the assignment is listed has the Table of Contents menu listed on the side, that menu will move itself and land right on top of your submitted assignment. Your instructor will not have this problem viewing your submitted assignment. If you want to see the assignment with the correct view, go to the My Grades area and click the name of the assignment. It will display correctly there.
Oregon Tech Online
It is time for students to complete the course evaluations for Fall Term 2015, fully-online and blended courses. (Hybrid courses are not included in the online evaluation process.) Please access the "Course Evaluations" link in each of your online and/or blended courses. It should be available as a link on the Course Menu. Your evaluation will remain anonymous. Instructors and OTO staff will know who completed an evaluation but they will be unable to determine which answers came from which student.
Evaluations for 11 week courses will be available between Monday, November 16th at 8am through Sunday, December 6th at 11:59PM Pacific Time.
In some cases your instructor may extend this date range. If your course does not provide access to the Course Evaluation, please use external email to notify the Oregon Tech Online staff at email@example.com.
I can't stress enough how valuable your feedback is to faculty and departments. Thank you for completing the course evaluation for your Blackboard course(s). Your time is greatly appreciated.
